Event Description
Faculty from the University of Kentucky Department of Chemistry have produced massive open online courses (MOOC) and other online tools which are free and open to the public. The lectures and materials contained within the course can be utilized by high school teachers to supplement their class.
 
We invite high school chemistry teachers from Kentucky and the region to attend our upcoming workshop “Enhancing Learning in Your High School Chemistry Class” hosted at the University of Kentucky on June 20-21, 2019.  In this two-day workshop, you will explore the MOOC and other online tools and consider areas in which these resources might enhance your students learning and develop a lesson plan for a specific topic of your choosing.
 
Apply online at the link below.  Space is limited to approximately 15 teachers for this year’s workshop.  Hotel accommodations, mileage reimbursement, meals and a $200 stipend will be provided.  See the attached flyer for more details.
 
APPLICATION DEADLINE:              JUNE 7, 2019

 Qualified applicants will be selected to have a group of teachers from diverse school districts within the region.  Teachers selected will be notified by June 10th with additional details about the event.
