Moderator Bios:
 
Mark Schaaf is a CPG working on environmental site assessment and remediation projects at Kleinfelder since 2005. He is currently serving as Treasurer on AIPG's Executive Committee. Mark also enjoys supporting the AIPG Mentoring Program.
 
Brigitte Petras is a Geologist at Battelle Memorial Institute with national and international carbon capture and storage (CCUS) experience. She has her Geologist-in-Training Certification from the state of Pennsylvania. Petras is involved in geocharacterization, geomodelling, risk, and permit analyses. Her background is in petroleum and environmental consulting. Petras has an M.S. in geology from West Virginia University and a B.S. in geology from Youngstown State University.
 
Panelist Bios:
 
Rebecca Ryser is a hydrogeologist and project manager for the MPCA Voluntary Investigation and Cleanup Brownfield Program. Her primary responsibilities include technical review of environmental documents and writing technical assistance and assurance letters for redevelopment sites. She has been at MPCA for five years and also works on Targeted Brownfield Assessment grant sites, GIS projects, creates the Annual Brownfield Reports, and participates in outreach opportunities. She has a B.S. in Hydrogeology from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, a Master of Advanced Study in GIS (MAS-GIS) from Arizona State University, and her Professional Geologist license from the state of Minnesota. Prior to acquiring a MAS-GIS, she worked as a geologist for five years in the environmental consulting industry and performed field work at a variety of sites including superfund, mining, and brownfield sites.
 
Hays Slaughter is a geologist working for AngloGold Ashanti in Beatty, Nevada on a gold epithermal project. His role includes logging core, logging RC chips, drilling rig oversight, and he currently training with Leapfrog Geo to learn 3D-modeling of geologic systems. Previously, Hays worked for Freegold Ventures Limited near Fairbanks, Alaska as an exploration geologist on a gold porphyry project. He has a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Columbus State University and is interested in pursuing future opportunities to attain his Master of Science in Geology. During his time as a student, Hays was active in AIPG as a student officer. Furthermore, he was a recipient of the 2020 Georgia Section AIPG student scholarship. This led to opportunities to write publications for The Professional Geologist and meeting Mark Schaaf as a mentor.
 
Shaun Donmoyer is a Hydrologist with the USGS-Pennsylvania Water Science Center. He is involved in various research projects including groundwater availability, the Chesapeake Bay, emerging contaminants and coal combustion products. He holds a B.S. in Geosciences from The Pennsylvania State University, an M.S. in Geology from West Virginia University and is a Geologist-In-Training in the state of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining the USGS, he worked in environmental consulting for two years performing various site investigations and held an internship with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources bureau of Geological Survey in their subsurface division.
