Event Description
A "Dark Sky Hayride" in Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3 offers a fun way to appreciate the beauty of the nighttime sky while also learning about the effect light pollution has on our world. Passengers on the hayride will be pulled in a wagon with hay bales for seating to Fort Hill Park, with stops where Dark Sky Frankfort committee members will share information about how artificial light impacts animals and humans and what can be done to lessen the impact. The final stop for the wagon will allow participants to view the night sky through a telescope. The event is free and open to the public. It is being held during International Dark Sky Week, a worldwide celebration of the dark and natural night.
