The Kentucky Environmental Education Council is excited to announce that the application for our 2024-25 Professional Environmental Educator Certification course is now available!

The immersive series of four workshops will provide you with a thorough understanding of the best practices of environmental education, a cohort of fellow educators to network with, and dozens of hands-on learning experiences to use in your own work. Participants who complete the course requirements will receive the designation, "Certified Professional Environmental Educator," which is recognized by the North American Association for Environmental Education in all 50 states.

Workshops are scheduled for:
Workshop 1: October 25-26, 2024, Maywoods Environmental and Educational Laboratory, Crab Orchard
Workshop 2: December 6-7, 2024, JM Feltner 4-H Camp, London
Workshop 3: February 21-22, 2025, Nazareth Retreat Center, Nazareth
Workshop 4: March 28-29, 2025, Cave Research Foundation Hamilton Valley Facility, Cave City

Each workshop costs $250, with lodging and meals included. Participants are required to complete each workshop in order, with some coursework between workshops. Additional information about the course is available on the KEEC website.

Ten scholarships of up to $600 will be available to assist participants in paying for the course. There is a separate application for the scholarships.

Enrollment in the course is limited to the first 20 applicants. Additional applicants will be accepted from a waiting list if places in the course become available.
