Event Description
Registration is now open for the KY INBRE R15/R16 Virtual Grant Writing Workshop
KY INBRE will again offer an intensive workshop on the development of NIH R15-Research Enhancement Award (REA) and R16-Support for Research Excellence (SuRE) proposals on Sat, Oct 19. Both programs have similar goals of supporting meritorious research, exposing undergrad students to research, and enhancing the research environment of the institution.
Institutions eligible for the R15 program must not have received more than $6 million in NIH funding in four of the past seven years.
The R16 program also targets institutions which have received limited NIH funding, but also serve an economically disadvantaged and/or minority student population.
Nearly all primarily undergrad institutions in Kentucky are eligible for these awards.
This all day workshop will cover all aspects of writing a successful NIH proposal. Faculty with little or no experience in writing R15 or R16 NIH proposals should plan to participate in all sessions. Whereas, those with prior NIH grant writing experience may choose to participate in only the more advanced sessions.
The workshop will be conducted via Zoom and is free and open to interested faculty at all Kentucky public and private institutions.
Register by Mon, Oct 14.
