Looking for a way to get active in the climate community–or support those who are? Searching for resources and tips for teaching climate change? Come to the Teach Climate Network Summer Institute this July, where educators are celebrated and their roles as community change makers are valued.
The Summer Institute is a virtual, three-day conference focused on climate change education. At the Summer Institute, we have a bit of something for everyone, from the seasoned climate educators looking for strategies to engage deeply in civic action, to the climate curious seeking to dip their toe into climate change science. Attendees will create a personalized agenda by selecting from 30+ interactive workshops, chat with other teachers and non-formal educators on our discussion boards, and get access to dozens of trusted instructional materials to boost their teaching experiences.
Help us get the word out! Know someone who should be part of this? Share this opportunity widely—we’re building a community that learns, acts, and grows together.

"I have been trying to reflect on everything that I took in during the Institute and it is so overwhelming in the best way. I have big ideas on how I want to change climate education in my district and the Institute helped to shape some of those ideas and plans I have.”
— 2024 Summer Institute Attendee

Concurrent Sessions
With leaders from all across North America presenting and attending, the Institute is flooded with inspiration, knowledge, and critical discussion. Speakers at the Institute host 30+ interactive sessions ranging from 60 minutes to 2 hours, featuring the best examples of climate change education. Sessions are designed to be hands-on and practice-focused with tips, tools, and strategies that can be applied today!

Case Study Workshops
Wonder how that school got support for a climate action project? Or when that teacher fit climate change into their curriculum? At the Institute, attendees can hear from people doing the work and participate in case study workshops designed to highlight and foster discussion about the ins and outs of climate change action and education in real-world settings.

Off-Screen Experiences
Although this event is virtual, we find time to explore the outdoors and connect with nature! Using Climate Generation’s Field Activity, attendees can engage in critical reflection on local climate solutions, practice their writing skills, and take a walk around their neighborhood. Experience this and other activities at the Institute!

Resource Sharing
Resources, resources, resources. You want them. We have them! Through the Summer Institute, activities, lessons, curriculum, and other teaching materials are gathered and stored in a Resource Hub that’s available to attendees all year. This is a great tool to help you update your collection and refer back to throughout the year as you plan.

Joy
We want to make this event a celebration! Join us for the raffles, bingo, trivia, and positive stories of powerful work happening all across North America!
